Cutrite Harvester Blades are just a few of the many products manufactured by Robertson Engineering Ltd. 

Based in the Wellington region of New Zealand, the Company was purchased by Maurice Wooster, who has a background in farming, from Jim Robertson in 1974 - hence the name. At that time it was a one-man operation in a shed at the back of his home.

The company originally began the manufacture of Runrite abattoir and chain equipment, which has been running for over 45 years.   It is also the manufacturer of Strainrite Fencing Systems products.

RUNRITE
 Abattoir meat rail hardware, i.e. hooks, gambrels, etc. (Manufacturer since 1974). 

This was in fact the only product that the company manufactured originally. We supply the majority of the market in New Zealand and our expertise in this field has led to large contracts in Australia and overseas.

STAINRITE FENCING SYSTEMS
Farm fencing tools and accessories such as wire strainers etc. This product range also has a large export market in Australia; the United Kingdom, Europe and the United States - you may have seen it in the merchandise farm outlets locally. 

​It is a very competitive market in New Zealand; but New Zealand is seen to be world leaders in farm fencing which has come about by the intensive grazing methods and the need for high quality, stock proof farming.

CUTRITE HARVESTER BLADES
We manufacture a large range of agricultural blades including, but not limited to Sugar Cane Harvesting Machine Blades and Fan Blades, domestic and commercial Mowers, agricultural blades and flails etc. These compete with imports from Italy but we still supply all the original equipment manufactured in New Zealand. Obviously Cutrite Harvester Blades are a big part of this product line.

​Robertson Engineering Ltd enjoys about 60% export, mainly shared between fencing (Strainrite), and Harvester Blades (Cutrite).
In 1986 we placed an advertisement for blades in the NZ Export Institutes publication and following a response began the development and marketing of mechanical sugar cane harvester blades. This gave birth to Cutrite Harvester Blades.

We have concentrated on the Australian market, the home of mechanical harvesting with 30 years’ experience and have agents spread throughout Queensland selling to about 20% of the market share. Over the years we have continued to improve our blades and believe they now outlast the opposition both in quality and price.
